There are many and varied web content managers, those tools that work to remove, place and modify elements on your website quickly, effectively and functionally. Elgg is one of these tools, but also adds a new and interesting component: diverse integrated services oriented towards social networks.

In other words, Elgg lets you, in addition to adminstering the typical elements and contents of a website (blogs, podcast, RSS, user profiles, etc) build a complete user community, with defined groups that could be automanaged via their own members.

Elgg´s flexibility lets each webmaster activate or deactivate the functions they consider necessary for the website, even adding new modules via plug-in use.
